Local Council Elections May 5th 2022

Local Election Results 2022

In May 2022 we stood candidates in sixteen wards in Brent. We achieved our best ever result - greatly increasing our vote share compared to previous Council Elections.

We were the second biggest party in seven of the sixteen wards in which we stood. This was an excellent result and shows how interest in the Green Party is growing in Brent and Nationally.

These are the wards where we came second (charts based on the votes for the leading candidate for each party):

Under a Proportional Representation voting system, we would have won at least two seats.

The likelihood is that with a Proportional Representation system we would have won many more votes, with the consequent increase in seats gained.

Brent Green Party has announced its candidates

This election is not for an MP, or about the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. This is a Council election to choose three local councillors to work hard and speak up for you on Brent Council. The quality of the air we breathe, the condition of housing, pavements, potholes in the road, vandalism, crime and litter are all environmental issues. If anyone will solve these problems it will be us. It’s why we doubled our presence on London Councils in 2014 and represent you with Sian & Caroline on the London Assembly

Brent Green Party has launched its comprehensive manifesto for the Council elections. Candidates are standing on a platform of challenging the 'One Party' Brent Council pledging to hold the Council to account for its decisions, ensuring that its policies and decisions are robustly scrutinised, extending democracy so that all councillors have a share in decision making and putting forward imaginative and radical new ideas to improve the quality of life and life chances of Brent residents. For our Manifesto click here
