Green breakthroughs in London

Darren Johnson AM was re-elected in Lewisham, Brockley with the largest vote in the Borough, whilst his running mates Romayne Phoenix and Dean Walton gained the other two seats in the Ward. There was a big swing to the Greens in neighbouring Ladywell Ward where Mike Keogh, Sue Luxton and Ute MIchel were elected.In Camden Maya de Souza and Adrian Oliver took the first and third seats in Highgate Ward.

In Islington Katie Dawson took the second of the three seats in Highbury West. With the LibDems on 24 seats and Labour on 23 the Greens hold the balance of power. Jon Nott was just 105 votes from winning a second Green seat.Bowes Ward, Enfield, saw top Green candidate Laura Davenport get 1,000 votes to beat all three Tories and come within 100 votes of taking the third seat available from Labour.
